Punjab

Punjab is one of the wealthy states in India. It produces more than 50 percent of the nation’s rice and wheat, and gives stability in the area of agriculture. This state is the birthplace of the Sikh religion. Punjab is the North Indian state most responsive to the gospel.

IFMI started ministry in Punjab in 2003 in a humble way under the leadership of sister Salomi who is very committed to the cause of evangelism. She provides good leadership in the church planting ministry. Today we have regular worship services in 42 different places and have a ladies’ training center where we equip young ladies for outreach and church planting ministry.

The Lord is doing marvelous and wonderful things in this state through this ministry. Our vision is to plant churches in each of the 17 districts and to produce local leaders for the church planting ministry.

Today, as the ministry in Punjab expands, there is a need for prayer support, financial support for six (6) sisters who have graduated now from our Bible College and for resources like an Over Head Projector and a Video projector to show Christian movies. The film project has great effect in the whole North Indian works as the people are very much interested in films. Therefore the video projector can be taken to other states also.
