Orissa

OrissaThe State of Orissa lies along the eastern seaboard of India, south of Bengal. Orissa is tapping the hydroelectric potential of its many rivers, and fledging industries are being started. Orissa is a mineral-rich state, has a big factory at Rourkela and exports iron ore. Orissa has 62 districts. There are the tribal groups of aboriginal people who were there prior to the Aryan invasion of India.

IFMI started ministry in Orissa in 2003. We have adopted three Districts in Orissa for church planting as well as training the natives. Advocate Ratan Singh co-ordinates the ministries in Orissa. At Nayagarh, we have a Bible training center where we conduct a 6-month Bible training course and prepare men and women for mission works.

Our vision is to plant churches in every village of these adopted Districts within a limited time and to equip many native men for evangelism and church planting. We also plan to carry out some social projects like free tuition, free medical camps, and awareness programs, as there is poverty and great need in the state.

We ask your prayers for this state and our pastors who work tirelessly day and night for the glory of God.
