Maharashtra state is one of the largest states in India, both in terms of population and in area. Its booming capital, Mumbai, makes it not only one of the most important states economically, but also a major gateway for overseas visitors. Historically, this state was the main center for the Maratha Empire which defied the Moghuls for so long.
IFMI is located in Sholapur and Pastor Suresh Chawan is coordinating the ministries. Pastor Suresh was born and brought up in a Hindu family and spent many of his years trying to find the true God. He was discouraged and did not find God even though he tried his best. At last he found joy and peace in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Saviour. Since then, he is strongly witnessing of Christ everywhere. He and his team are leading regular worship services in 10 places here. The Lord is doing wonderful things through Pastor Suresh.
By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we was able to translate the John the gospel to Lambadi language through Pastor Suresh Chawan.
Lambadi Bible distribution:- The people of Mahrashtra specially the Banjara tribe in the state wholeheartedly welcomed the lambadi John the gospel in their language. IFMI printed the first Scripture in this language and inaugurated on 25th Dec -07.
Later we had arranged a network with 15 major organizations and churches for the distribution of the Bibles in the state. The distribution centers are located in Nagpur, Kolhapur, Solapur, Pune and Mumbai. We believe hundreds of people will be blessed by this written Word and meet the Saviour who is our Lord Jesus Christ.
