Delhi is the capital city of India. It is one of the finest metropolitan cities and has a population of more than 14 million people. This historic city largely reflects the rule of Mughal (Mogul) and British empires. According to a 2004 TV documentary, Delhi is the fastest growing city in Asia in regards to development and luxury.
Delhi gives a warm response to the gospel. An IFMI survey shows that almost every locality/area has a Christian presence.
IFMI started the ministry in Delhi in 2003 near Maharoli. Pastor Mathew Thomas is coordinating the works in Delhi. At present we have worship services in Hindi and Malayalam languages, in three different places. Also, we conduct short-term, church-based Bible Training for the natives to equip them for evangelism and church planting ministry.
Recently we started ministry in a leprosy colony in Delhi and our pastors visit this colony regularly for conducting prayer services.
Our vision is to plant 100 churches in Delhi before the year 2015, and to train and send men and women for this cause. We kindly ask your regular prayer support for this city and for the mission works being done here.
